If your choice is to go with all speed sets but you don't even have 5* speed mainstat boots in the speed set (dragon hates my wife, she's in this boat now) but you do have a lucky 6* taunting boot with speed mainstat, you'd be throwing away speed in order to complete sets and working with sub par stats. If you've not been farming Dragon (or the source of whatever set you're looking to build) and don't have a deep collection of it, then the odds of getting a match are lower and broken sets are more likely to win even if it's a tie. In this case the toxic is better, go with stats over sets. But maybe you've landed some good rolls on a toxic helm that is +18. ![]() So if you're needing to build the fastest champion possible (usually an arena lead or for a clan boss tune) you can look at a rare 5* speed helm with one roll in speed giving it a visible +10 speed as if it were actually a +16. A speed set helm is like any other helm with a conditional +6 speed (half of the +12 you'd get for completing the set). ![]() You can treat most sets like a worse version of a bonus roll.
